A NOTE FROM SARAH
A San Diego native, daughter of an architect, I was emersed in arts and architecture which inspired me to persue an interior design degree. While in school, I worked with my father and top design firms gaining a wealth of knowledge designing high-end homes, hotels and restuarants.
Tired of sourcing big-box furniture options to my clients, in 2016, Clutch Modern was born. I wanted to share my design journey, and gather a curated fresh mix of modern and contemporary furniture sourced from around the world.
The way I see it, our furniture and decor is inspired by my SoCal laid back lifestyle . It's inviting and comfortable, evoking a sensable style that channels the spirit of the calming ocean.

People often ask, “How did you come up with the name, Clutch Modern?” I am the youngest of three older brothers and grew up watching sports and I was the only girl in Little League Baseball. The word clutch in my home had many meanings. I intended it to be a call to action, to grasp or seize the moment and opportunity for our team to inspire and enrich people’s homes and lives with our curated selection of modern furniture and décor.
